Spooky, family-friendly Halloween musical parody in which a mummy and Dracula collide over a magical Vampire Stone at the Natural History Museum.
The Off Broadway Theatre Company is running Dracula vs. The Mummy - Let's Wrap this Up! throughout October, a family-friendly musical parody they're putting on with Laughing Stock Improv. It's a spooky one, and the title gives you a pretty good idea of where it's headed.
The story kicks off on a chilly Halloween night when something wakes up inside the Natural History Museum: a mummy, confused, dusty, and determined to find his long-lost bride. At the same time, Dracula is hunting the magical Vampire Stone, which he believes will grant him unstoppable powers. The two paths cross in a whirl of laughs, magic, and a dash of Halloween chills, in an adventure that proves love and bravery never get old, even after a few thousand years. It's a musical, so there's singing mixed in with the comedy, and it's built for families, which means it's safe to bring the kids along.
It runs from October 2 through October 31, with performances on October 19, 23, 24, 26, 30, and 31. The evening shows are from 7 PM to 9 PM, and there are matinees on the last two Saturdays, October 24 and 31, from 2 PM to 4 PM. You'll find it at The Off Broadway Theatre Company, 3601 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84115.
