Chicago indie rock band Ax and the Hatchetmen play Metro Music Hall with their horn section on The Late Checkout Tour 2026, an all-ages show.
Ax and the Hatchetmen play Metro Music Hall on Monday, November 2, as part of The Late Checkout Tour 2026. It's a Chicago six-piece indie rock band fronted by singer-guitarist Axel Ellis, and the sound is built around a signature horn section of trumpet and saxophone layered over jangly, sunburnt guitars.
They've been touring and releasing music since 2018, and their story runs from high school hallways outside Chicago to millions of listeners and nearly a decade on the road. Along the way they won the Evanston Battle of the Bands, landed radio hits, and collaborated with Albert Hammond Jr. on "Blurry Lights." They also recently put out a deluxe edition of So Much to Tell You.
