Hands-on cooking class led by professional chefs that blends seasonal fall ingredients with classic Thai techniques for all skill levels.
Salt Lake Culinary Education is hosting A Thai Style Fall Class on Friday, October 23, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's part of their International Cooking Classes series, and the whole thing is hands-on, led by professional chefs. They've designed it for all skill levels, so it works whether you're a total beginner or someone who's been cooking at home for years.
The theme is exactly what the title says: seasonal fall ingredients blended with classic Thai techniques. The goal is to put together comforting, aromatic dishes that fit the cooler months, balancing sweet, spicy, sour, and savory flavors in the way Thai cooking is known for. You'll be doing the cooking yourself rather than just watching a demo, and you'll leave with the recipes so you can make the dishes again on your own.
As for how the evening actually runs, it's about three hours long. You'll spend roughly two hours at the station cooking, followed by a half-hour to an hour of restaurant-style dining where you sit down and eat what you've made. The kitchen provides everything you needโpre-measured ingredients, tools, and apronsโso you don't have to bring a thing. Each class takes in up to twelve guests, and it's aimed at adults 18 and over.
