Parker Theatre's faithful and heartfelt stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas story, recommended for ages 8 and up.
Parker Theatre brings A Christmas Carol to its stage on Saturday, November 21, at 3:30 PM. It's a faithful, heartfelt adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic, set in Victorian London. The story follows the cold and miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited on Christmas Eve by his deceased partner Jacob Marley and then by three spirits. Together, they force him to confront the shadows of his past, the reality of his present, and the dire consequences of his future, until his joy of Christmas is restored. The production is noted for its rich language, atmospheric settings, and a cast of endearing characters.
It's recommended for ages 8 and up, and there are a few house rules to keep in mind: no babies or toddlers are permitted, and no outside food or drink is allowed. If you arrive late, you may not be seated until a break or intermission, so it's worth getting there a bit early. Parking is free in the private lots north and south of the theatre, and there's plenty of street parking on State Street and Baird & Helm Avenues.
