Sunday community farmers market with around 30 regional farmers and local food artisans in the historic King neighbourhood of NE Portland.
King Farmers Market is back in NE Portland this Sunday, October 18, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's held in the parking lot next to King Elementary School at NE 7th and Wygant, between NE Alberta and NE Prescott Streets (4815 NE 7th Ave, Portland, Oregon 97211). The market has been running since 2009, and it's a community-centered Sunday spot in the historic King neighborhood with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion.
Around 30 regional farmers and local food artisans set up here, so you can pick up your weekly produce and a few other things in one go. There are breakfast and lunch options on site, and the whole thing is family-friendly. If you're new to the market, there's an information booth run by staff and volunteers under a yellow canopy to help you get your bearings. It's also dog-friendly, and live music often fills the air while you shop.
Payment is easy: they take cash, credit and debit, and market tokens. They also accept SNAP with a Double Up Food Bucks match of up to $20, and the Oregon Farm Direct Nutrition Program, which helps make the fresh stuff more affordable. The market sits close to the Alberta Arts District, so it's an easy anchor for a Sunday morning in the neighborhood.
