Year-round flagship farmers market with an average of 90 local farmers and food producers every Saturday, located on the Portland State University campus.
The PSU Farmers Market is back at Portland State University this Saturday, October 24, as part of its year-round run. It's the flagship of the Portland Farmers Market, and it's been held on the PSU campus in the South Park Blocks since 1996, set under a canopy of giant elm trees. On a summer Saturday, it can draw up to 9,000 shoppers, and it regularly brings in local residents, chefs, and visitors from around the world to browse as many as 100 vendor stalls of local farmers and food producers. The urban park setting, with local musicians and seasonal events, has made it a vital part of the city.
Getting there is easy. It's accessible via TriMet, MAX, the Portland Streetcar, and bus routes, with on-street parking and several garages nearby. When you're there, the market accepts cash, credit, and debit, as well as market tokens and SNAP. They also run the Double Up Food Bucks program, which matches SNAP benefits up to $20.
