Squeeze perform their album Trixies live, with special guest Billy Bragg, at Plymouth Arena.
Squeeze are playing Plymouth Arena on Tuesday 1 December, with Billy Bragg joining them on the bill. It's a double bill that puts two names from the English songwriting tradition on the same stage, and the night is built around Squeeze's latest album, Trixies.
Trixies came out on 6 March 2026, and it's their first record in eight years. It's also the first one they ever wrote: a collection of stories set in a fictional night club, penned by a teenage Chris Diffie (19) and Glenn Tilbrook (16) at the very start of their songwriting partnership. The only problem was that, back in 1974, the young creators' musical vision exceeded their virtuosity, so these songs have spent over half a century waiting for the band to be able to play them. That's the record they're touring, and it's what they're bringing to the Arena.
Having Billy Bragg on the bill adds another layer to the evening. Bragg's known for his political songwriting and his roots in the folk tradition, and seeing him share a stage with Squeeze — a band that's spent decades refining their own approach to the English pop song — makes for a full night of music. Between the two, you've got a fair bit of ground covered.
