Ocean Colour Scene

Ocean Colour Scene play Plymouth Arena on Monday 7 December, as part of their 2026 UK tour. The whole night is built around Moseley Shoals, the album they released in 1996, which hits its 30th anniversary this year. If you've got the record, you'll know the songs; if you don't, it's a good place to start with them.

They've been around a long time. Formed in Birmingham in 1989, the band is Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock and Oscar Harrison. Their early sound leaned towards baggy and indie, but by the mid-90s they'd moved into a more direct rock style that pulled from britpop, blues rock and English soul. That shift came with close ties to Paul Weller and a 1995 tour with Oasis. Moseley Shoals was one of the records that held their place, alongside Marchin' Already and One from the Modern, and they've kept going with a steady run of albums through the 2000s. This tour is their way of marking the anniversary of that particular one.

Opening for them are The Enemy, who bring a different kind of grit. Formed in Coventry in 2006 by Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts, they put out four albums between We'll Live and Die in These Towns in 2007 and It's Automatic in 2015. They went quiet for a while after 2016, but they've been back together since 2022, so they're playing as a reunited band.

The gig is at Plymouth Arena on Millbay Road, Millbay, Plymouth PL1 3LF, on Monday 7 December, running from 19:00 to 22:00. Ocean Colour Scene headline, with The Enemy as special guests.
