Cancer Research UK's Race for Life obstacle course event featuring the Pretty Muddy 5k and Pretty Muddy Kids activities at Central Park.
Pretty Muddy comes to Central Park on Sunday 19 July, the obstacle course version of Cancer Research UK's Race for Life. It's a 5k where you climb, crawl, and slide your way around the course at your own pace, with no pressure to finish in a certain time. The event runs in staggered waves starting every 15 minutes, so you aren't all starting at once.
There's a separate course for the younger ones, too. Pretty Muddy Kids is a muddy obstacle course for children aged 6 to 12 who are over 1.2m tall, and they're accompanied by a supervising adult throughout. If you've got kids that age, it's a way to get them involved in the day without them having to tackle the full 5k.
Both courses raise money for Cancer Research UK, which funds life-saving research into more than 200 types of cancer. Over the last 50 years, their work has helped double cancer survival rates in the UK, so every entry goes toward that.
