If you're not familiar with them, Wavves is the project of Nathan Williams, who started it back in 2008 in San Diego. It began as a bedroom recording project, and that lo-fi, home-made feel stayed with the early records. The sound is a mix of surf rock, punk attitude and grunge guitars, and it's a good fit for a loud, guitar-led night. Two of the early albums, Wavvves (2009) and King of the Beach (2010), are the ones that put them on the map, and 'Post Acid' is one of the tracks that stuck.
Foxhole and Tooth Gore are also on the bill, so it's a three-band run rather than a single act. The whole thing falls under the Everywhere At Once Festival, which is bringing the three of them to the same night. If you're into indie rock and alternative guitar music, this is exactly the kind of bill that works best in a room like The Depo.
Tickets start at €11.20, which includes the booking fee, and you can get them through byplive.seetickets.com or Ents24. The night runs from 18:00 to 23:30, so it's a long one that takes you from the early evening right through to nearly midnight.
