A drag night featuring lip-synching, costumes, live vocals, games and audience interaction, open to young adults aged 11 and over.
Drag Night: Lights, Glamour, Action! returns to The Box on Saturday 5 September, coming back to the venue by popular demand. It's a drag night in the fullest sense: lip-synching, eye-catching costumes, live vocals, laughs, games and plenty of audience interaction, with a surprise or two thrown in along the way. If you've been before, you'll know the format โ the performers don't just stay on stage, they work the room, so you're as much a part of the evening as you are watching it.
One of the things that sets this apart from a standard drag show is the mix of acts. You've got the lip-synching, which is the bread and butter of the art, but there are live vocals in the mix too, so it's not all playback. The costumes are a big part of the draw โ the kind of over-the-top, high-glamour looks that make the night live up to its name. Between the numbers, there are games and audience interaction, so it's a good shout if you're going with a group and want something you can all get involved with rather than just sitting and watching.
It's an all-ages affair, open to young adults aged 11 and over, so it works as a night out with friends or something to take the younger ones along to. If you're arriving early, there's food available from The Box Kitchen & Bar before the show starts, and all seating is unreserved, so you can just turn up and find a spot.
