The Barbican Art, Craft & Food Fair is back at West Pier Barbican this summer, with the first weekend running on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July. It's a local arts, crafts and food fair, and the whole point is to get you to browse the stalls and support local businesses. If you miss this one, there are two more weekends to choose from: 15-16 August and 19-20 September, so you've got plenty of chances to fit it in.
The fair is held at West Pier Barbican, right next to the historic Mayflower steps. It's a good spot for a day out because there's so much else around it. The Mayflower Museum is just there, and the Elizabethan House dates back to the late 1500s. The Barbican Theatre is nearby too, as is the National Marine Aquarium. And if you're into gin, the Plymouth Gin Distillery — Black Friars Distillery, which has been the home of Plymouth Gin since 1793 — is just a short walk away. You can easily make a full day of it by combining the fair with a few of those.
