Kid-friendly Halloween tradition with daytime trick-or-treating, meet-and-greets, a costume parade and dance contest at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium.
ZooBoo returns to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium on Saturday, Oct. 17, the start of the zoo's annual kid-friendly Halloween tradition. This year it's presented by AHN Pediatrics, and it runs through Sunday, Oct. 25, with additional sessions on Sunday, Oct. 18 through Monday, Oct. 26, Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 25 through Monday, Nov. 2. If you're planning a trip, you've got a few different windows to work with over the next couple of weeks.
The main draw is daytime trick-or-treating throughout the park, with zoo staff in costume handing out treats as you walk. It's a gentle, daytime version of Halloween, so it's built for families with younger kids who aren't quite ready for the spooky stuff that comes later in the month. Along the way, you'll find meet-and-greets with the zoo's favorite characters, a kooky costume parade, and a dance contest. And the animals get in on it, tooβthey hand out their own Halloween treats.
