Free open-air salsa night with beginner instruction and social dancing hosted by Salsa Pittsburgh at Bakery Square.
Salsa Dancing on the Lawn returns to the Bakery Square Courtyard on Thursday, October 29, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. It's an open-air salsa night hosted by Salsa Pittsburgh, and the whole thing is built around getting as many people on the floor as possible.
The evening starts with beginner-friendly instruction, so if you've never danced salsa before, you can pick up the basics right there. Once that's done, the floor opens up for the rest of the night, and it turns into social dancing to salsa music and a lively energy. You don't need a partner to join inβthe social nature of the night means you'll find plenty of people to dance with.
Salsa Pittsburgh runs the whole thing, and they've set it up so you can come in at your own level. The early lesson is there to get you moving, and the social dancing that follows is where the night really opens up. Whether you're just starting out or you've been dancing for years, the format works the same: a bit of learning to kick things off, then a few hours of dancing with whoever happens to be there.
