Evening lecture on how prehistoric Paleoindians adapted to and survived the Ice Age, followed by a guided tour of 'Planet Ice: Mysteries of the Ice Ages'.
Heinz History Center is hosting a talk called Surviving the Ice Age on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 5 PM to 6 PM. It's an evening lecture that looks at what life was like during the last Ice Age and how prehistoric Paleoindians adapted to those extreme climates—how they found food and shelter, and how they lived alongside the animals of the era. It's part of the center's educational programming around Planet Ice: Mysteries of the Ice Ages, so the talk is built to pair with the exhibition.
If you want to see the things the lecture describes, you can follow the talk with a guided tour of Planet Ice, or just wander through the exhibition at your own pace. The lecture runs an hour, and the tour is an option right afterward, so you can make a full evening of it if you're in the mood. The center is at 1212 Smallman Street in the Strip District.
