Candlelight tribute concert in which the Listeso String Quartet plays Metallica songs for strings under candlelight at the Heinz History Center.
Candlelight: Tribute to Metallica comes to the Heinz History Center on Friday, October 30, at 6:30 PM. It's part of the Candlelight series, which stages live string quartets or orchestras in unusual locations under candlelight. The Heinz History Center houses interactive exhibits and the sports history of Western Pennsylvania, and it'll be the backdrop for this one.
The Listeso String Quartet is the group on the program. They've taken Metallica's catalog and rearranged it for strings, so you'll hear those songs played by a quartet rather than a full rock band. It's a tribute concert, not a performance by the band themselves, and it's not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Metallica or their estate.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind. Seating works on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone, so if you have a preference for where you sit, arriving early is the way to go. Doors open 45 minutes before the show, and there's no entry once it's started. The experience is for ages 8 and older, and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
