Annual fundraising gala at the Heinz History Center with six floors of exhibitions, local bites, signature drinks, a silent auction and a dance party with DJ Bonics.
History Uncorked returns to the Heinz History Center on Friday, March 5, 2027, from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. It's the center's signature annual fundraiser, and the proceeds go toward its educational programs and services. The night takes place at the Smithsonian's home in Pittsburgh, and the whole building is open for it.
That's the part that sets it apart from a typical gala: you get to wander through six floors of exhibitions while you're there. Between the galleries, there are local bites, signature drinks, entertainment, and activities spread across the floors, along with a silent auction. You can move at your own pace, drifting from the exhibits to the food and back again, rather than staying in one room all night.
As the evening winds down, the focus shifts to the dance floor, where DJ Bonics takes over for a dance party to close the night. It's a 21-and-over event, so you'll need a valid ID to get in. And if you're planning to go, it's worth keeping in mind that it's sold out three years in a row, so getting your tickets early is a good call.
