Third annual free community street festival on Forbes Avenue with food and drinks, games, local vendors, arts and crafts, pumpkin painting and the family musical 'Boo's Halloween House Party'.
Fall Fest returns to the Pittsburgh Playhouse this year, running from October 23 through November 1. It's the Playhouse's third annual community street festival, and it's free. The whole thing takes over Forbes Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh, with the venue closing its doors to the street to make room for food, drinks, games, local vendors, and arts and crafts. There's also a pumpkin painting station and prizes to win, so it's the kind of outing that works for all ages.
Anchoring the weekend is the festival's highlight, Boo's Halloween House Party, a family musical full of music, dancing, laughter, and Halloween thrills. It plays at 12 PM on Friday, October 23, and again on Sunday, October 25. If you miss those, there are two more performances on Friday, October 30, and Sunday, November 1. Between the street fair and the show, there's plenty to do across the whole run.

The Playhouse itself is at Point Park University, 350 Forbes Avenue, an award-winning multi-disciplinary arts and entertainment center in Downtown Pittsburgh. The festival is also listed among the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's events, so it's a good way to spend a few hours in the neighborhood. The street fair runs from October 23 through November 1, and the musical plays at 12 PM on October 23, October 25, October 30, and November 1. Admission is free.
