Candlelight concert by the Listeso String Quartet of spine-chilling themes from cinema and classical music in a Gothic cathedral lit by LED candles.
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics comes to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Friday, October 23, with two performances that same night: one at 6:30 PM and another at 8:45 PM. Each one runs about an hour. The Listeso String Quartet is the ensemble on hand, and the program is a mix of spine-chilling themes from cinema and classical music.
If you've never been to a Candlelight concert, the setup is what sets it apart. Instead of a traditional stage, the space is lit by hundreds of flickering flameless LED candles, and the music comes from a string quartet rather than a full orchestra. This particular edition is presented by Fever, and the program leans into the Halloween season with a selection of eerie themes from film and classical music.
The venue is part of the experience. Trinity Episcopal Cathedral is a Gothic-style church in downtown Pittsburgh, known for its stained-glass windows, and the candlelight is meant to work with that setting. It's a different way to hear these pieces than you'd find in a standard concert hall.

On the practical side, doors open 45 minutes before each performance, and late entry isn't permitted, so you'll want to be there on time. Seats are assigned on arrival within the zone you purchase. Tickets start at $36.00.
