String quartet Listeso plays medleys of 1990s hip-hop classics in a candlelit concert at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Candlelight brings 90s Hip-Hop on Strings to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Friday, November 6, 2026. The Listeso String Quartet takes the stage for a 60-minute set that reimagines 1990s hip-hop classics as string quartet tributes, with the room lit only by flameless LED candles. It's a tribute experience, not linked to, endorsed or sponsored by the original artists or their representatives.
The program is built around medleys of artists who defined the era: Jay-Z, Outkast, Lauryn Hill and the Fugees, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. Hearing those beats and hooks translated to strings changes how they land, and the candlelit setting adds its own weight to the experience. It's a multi-sensory thing, so the atmosphere is as much a part of the evening as the music.
