A reading program where children and adults read aloud to Irish Wolfhound therapy dogs, Tipper and Riley, in quiet one-on-one sessions.
Wolfie's Tales is back at the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library this Friday, October 16, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. It's a reading program built around Tipper and Riley, two Irish Wolfhounds who work as gentle-giant therapy dogs. The whole thing is free, and it's open to both children and adults.
The session runs in fifteen-minute time slots, with one group or family per slot and a maximum of five people. The small group size is there for a reason: it gives readers some quiet, one-on-one time with a dog rather than a crowded room. You're invited to bring your own book or borrow one from the library to read aloud to a Wolfhound.

If you're not sure what to bring, the library has plenty on hand, so you can just show up and pick something out there. It's a low-pressure way to spend a bit of a Friday afternoon, whether you're reading with your kids or just want a few minutes of quiet with a very large dog. The Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library is at 1106 N Central Ave in Phoenix, and the program runs from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
