Screening of the ocean documentary 'Oceans: Our Blue Planet' at the Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater in the Arizona Science Center.
Oceans: Our Blue Planet is playing at the Arizona Science Center on Tuesday, Nov 10, as part of a run that continues every Tuesday through the end of the month. It's a film by MacGillivray Freeman Films, and it takes you on a global odyssey of the oceans—the largest and least explored habitat on Earth. The whole thing follows the new ocean science and technology that have pushed further into the unknown than ever before, from coastal shallows to deeper, more mysterious worlds.
Along the way, it reveals the untold stories of the ocean's most astonishing creatures. There's a tusk fish that uses a tool to open its food, and a cunning octopus that shields herself in an armoury of shells to hide from predators. It's the kind of thing that makes you realize how little we actually know about what's going on beneath the surface.
The film screens at the Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater on Level 1 of the Science Center, 600 E Washington St in Phoenix. The screen there stands five stories tall and is wrapped in high-definition sound, so you're pretty much immersed in the imagery from the moment you sit down. If you're coming on a Tuesday, that's one of several showtimes: screenings run daily from Tuesday to Sunday at 11:15 AM, 1:15 PM, and 3:15 PM. The film is also included in all Memberships and Discovery Pass Admissions.
