A programme for students in grades 6-12 to learn about global cultures, music-making and museum exploration while training to lead their own tours.
MIMkids Junior Museum Guides is back at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, starting Saturday, October 31. It's a program for students in grades 6 through 12, and it's part of the museum's MIMkids family and kids programming.
Over the course of four classes, students learn about cultures from around the world, take part in music-making, and explore the museum's galleries while training to lead tours of their own. If you complete all four sessions, you earn the chance to lead a group tour at an upcoming museum event, like the Joy to the World celebration. It's a good fit for a student who's into music and history and wants to get comfortable speaking in front of a crowd.
The program is supported by the Hao and Michelle Wang Foundation, which also provides funded tickets for those who might otherwise be unable to join. Museum admission is purchased separately, and there are no refunds.
