Free community event hosted by Project S.A.V.E. to support survivors of intimate partner violence, with food, resource tables, wellness activities and giveaways.
Project S.A.V.E. is hosting Voices Unbroken at the Lucien Blackwell Community Center on Saturday, October 24. It's a free community event presented by CUA 5, and the whole day is built around supporting survivors of intimate partner violence.
If you're not familiar with the name, Project S.A.V.E. is the group behind it, and the day is meant to do a few things at once: support survivors, promote wellness, and connect people and families to community resources. It's one of those events where the practical side—the resource tables—sits right alongside the social side, so you can get information and just hang out at the same time.
As for what's actually happening throughout the day, there's free food, community resource and vendor tables, wellness activities, giveaways, and family-friendly things to do. The resource tables are the core of it, with different organizations there to share information and connect you with services. The wellness activities and giveaways run alongside that, and the food is free, so you can come for one thing and stay for a few hours without needing to plan a whole meal around it. It's set up for families, too, so it's as much for people coming with kids as it is for anyone coming on their own.
