Tribute show by the FOD Band with more than 30 hits from The Searchers and The Hollies.
The Searchers and Hollies Experience plays O2 Academy Oxford on Saturday 24 October. It's a tribute show performed by the FOD Band, built around the 60s and 70s hits of two legendary British groups: The Searchers and The Hollies.
The set draws on more than 30 classics from both bands, so it covers a fair bit of ground across the two catalogues rather than just a handful of the biggest hits. The FOD Band describes it as a high-energy show of nostalgia music, and they've been running this particular tribute for some time now.
If you're not entirely sure where to start, The Searchers were one of the early Merseybeat bands, known for their clean harmonies and jangle-pop sound. The Hollies came from the same era, with a slightly different edge and a long run of singles that stayed in the charts well into the 70s. Putting them together in one night gives you a good look at that particular stretch of British pop, and with over 30 songs in the set, you'll likely hear a few you recognise even if you aren't a dedicated fan of either.
