The Rifles play their anniversary tour, running their debut album 'No Love Lost' in full, at the O2 Academy Oxford.
The Rifles are playing O2 Academy Oxford on Friday 13 November, one of six UK dates on an anniversary tour marking 20 years together. The set is built around their debut album, No Love Lost, which they'll play in full, with other fan favourites added in around it.
It's a specific way to approach a set — the whole debut album from start to finish, rather than a best-of selection. If you've got No Love Lost on your shelf, you'll hear it exactly as it was recorded, and the other songs they slot in will fill out the rest of the night. The Oxford date is part of a run that takes them to Glasgow, Bristol, Bournemouth, Manchester, Leicester and Birmingham, so this is the one for the city.
The venue itself is on Cowley Road, in an Edwardian building that used to be a Cooperative party hall. It went by The Venue and then the Zodiac before it opened as the Academy in September 2007, with New Young Pony Club, The Magic Numbers and Young Knives on the bill that night. Since then it's hosted Ed Sheeran, Foals, Stereophonics, Ozzy Osbourne, Babyshambles, Hozier and Royal Blood.
