Screening of the supernatural thriller 'The Others', directed by Alejandro Amenábar and starring Nicole Kidman, at Vue Oxford.
The Others is showing at Vue Cinema in Oxford on Thursday 22nd October, starting at 8.30pm. It's a supernatural thriller set in a remote country house on the island of Jersey after World War II, with Nicole Kidman in the lead. The story follows a mother and her two children living in isolation in the wake of the war, and it's the kind of slow-burn ghost story that relies on atmosphere and tension rather than jumps.
Vue Oxford is over at Ozone Leisure Park on Grenoble Road, OX4 4XP. It's a nine-screen cinema with more than 1,380 seats, and they show films in 2D and 3D in 4K with Dolby Surround Sound. Beyond the usual run of films, they also put on Big Screen Events — concerts, sport, dance, opera and theatre — so it's not just a place for the latest releases.
If you're taking the family, there are a few things worth knowing. They run Mighty Mornings and Big Shorts, and they've got 2-for-1 tickets with Meerkat Movies. They also welcome assistance dogs and hold accessible and autism-friendly screenings, so it's a fairly open setup regardless of how you're getting there.
