A 16-piece chamber orchestra plays Christmas film scores, traditional carols and festive classics with a lighting show, with early and late concerts.
The Christmas Orchestra returns to Oxford Town Hall on Wednesday 25 November, their third run here after selling out in 2024 and 2025. It's a 16-piece chamber orchestra of professional musicians, and the set is built around Christmas film scores, traditional carols and popular festive classics. The whole thing is backed by full sound production and an immersive lighting show that carries you through the music, and the show itself runs between 60 and 90 minutes.
The repertoire pulls from a fair few different places. You'll hear scores from Home Alone, Elf, The Holiday, Love Actually, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker, Harry Potter, Die Hard 2 and White Christmas, alongside the carols and classics. It's a wide spread, so you'll get the big cinematic themes and the more traditional stuff in the same evening.
