A relaxed, playful drawing session with tarot at The Old Fire Station, where curiosity matters more than getting it right.
Tarot - Drawing Club runs at The Old Fire Station on Saturday 17 October, from 5pm to 6pm. It's part of the Drawing Club series, which they describe as a relaxed, playful space where curiosity matters more than getting it right. This particular session brings tarot into the mix, so you'll be drawing around the cards.
If you've never been to a Drawing Club, the whole point is that it's not about producing a masterpiece. It's more about the act of drawing itself than the end result, and the 'curiosity over correctness' line is a good way to frame it: you're there to play with the subject rather than worry about whether your lines are straight or your proportions are spot on. The tarot element adds a bit of a prompt to work from, so you've got something to get stuck into.
The venue is The Old Fire Station at 40 George Street, OX1 2AQ, an arts centre that houses theatre, performance, studio and workshop space. It's run in partnership with the homeless charity Crisis, and it's also home to the Old Fire Station Café, which is a social enterprise. The whole building is wheelchair-friendly, so it's an easy one to get into.

It's a single hour on a Saturday afternoon, from 5pm to 6pm, and it costs £5. If you've been wanting to draw but usually put it off because you're worried about the result, this is exactly the kind of low-pressure way to start.
