Zach Cregger's reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise, in which a medical courier races for survival after a sudden outbreak, rated 15.
Resident Evil is playing at Vue Cinema in Oxford, with screenings running from 18 September through to 29 October. It's a reinvention of the franchise from director Zach Cregger, who also made Weapons and Barbarian, and this one starts fresh rather than picking up where the others left off.
The story follows Bryan, a medical courier, who's out on a delivery when a sudden outbreak breaks out. What should have been a routine shift turns into a non-stop race for survival as everything around him collapses into chaos, and a single night becomes a fight to stay alive. It runs 1 hour 34 minutes and is suitable only for customers aged 15 and over, so you'll need a valid photographic ID with you.
Cregger's cast includes Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser. The film is showing at Vue Oxford, inside the Ozone Leisure Park on Grenoble Road, which has nine screens and more than 1,380 seats. They run their films in 4K with Dolby Surround Sound, and the cinema also hosts big-screen events like concerts, sport, dance, opera and theatre. Parking is free for up to four hours, though you'll need to re-validate if you're staying longer. They also run Mighty Mornings, Big Shorts, 2-for-1 Meerkat Movies tickets, and autism-friendly and accessible screenings.
