Musical puppet show for children aged 2 to 6 based on the children's book 'Pirates Love Underpants' by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort.
Pirates Love Underpants comes to the Oxford Playhouse on Friday 9 April, with two more performances on Saturday 10 April. It's a family show built for children aged 2 to 6, and it runs for around an hour.
The production is based on the children's book Pirates Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort, published by Simon and Schuster UK Ltd, with text and illustrations copyright 2013. It follows a swashbuckling party of pirates on a quest to find the fabled Pants of Gold for the Captain's treasure chest, a journey that takes them to Long-John Bridge, Big Knickers Bay and Three Pants Ridge. The staging fills the room with music, puppetry and glittering pants of gold, and reviewers have described it as a tale guaranteed to get the little ones giggling.

If you're planning to bring the kids, there are three slots to choose from over the weekend: Friday 9 April at 2:00pm, and Saturday 10 April at 11:00am and 2:00pm. With the show running for about an hour, it's a manageable length for the younger end of that 2-6 age bracket, and the Saturday morning slot works well if you'd rather have the rest of the weekend free.
