Free ten-day food and drink festival on Broad Street with street food, drinks, independent traders and local producers, plus stilt-walking entertainment.
The Oxford Food & Drink Festival is back on Broad Street this October, taking over the city centre for ten days from 9 to 18 October. It's a street food festival in the truest sense, with stalls running across the high street and flavours from around the world sitting alongside sweet treats and snacks.
What sets it apart from a one-off weekend is the length. It runs throughout the week and over two weekends, so you don't have to clear a whole Saturday to get your fill. It's designed as a low-commitment thing: residents, visitors, students and families can just drop in on whatever day suits them rather than committing to a single date. If you're working during the week, you can still catch it on the weekends; if you're around on a Tuesday, you can pop in for lunch.
The stalls bring together street food, drinks, independent traders and local producers, all in the heart of the city. It's as much about the local makers as it is about the global flavours, and the stilt-walking entertainment adds a bit of street atmosphere to the mix. Because it's spread across ten days, you can come back more than once without feeling like you've seen it all in one go.
