Free Victorian-themed Christmas market on Broad Street with seasonal stalls, live music, festive food and street entertainment.
The Oxford Victorian Christmas Market takes over Broad Street from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November, turning one of the city's most recognisable stretches into a festive street of seasonal stalls for four days in mid-November. It's a proper step back in time, with the market playing as much on Oxford's historic university architecture as on the Christmas atmosphere. The stalls run along Broad Street, flanked by the Bodleian Library, the Sheldonian Theatre and Balliol College, so you've got some of the city's most famous buildings as your backdrop while you wander through.
What you'll find there is a mix of artisan traders, festive food and drinks, live music and street entertainment, and the whole thing is fully accessible. It's also part of Oxford's wider Christmas Light Festival, so it's one of several festive things happening around the city that time of year. The market itself runs for four days, with the opening day on Thursday 12 November from 12pm to 7pm, Friday 13 and Saturday 14 from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday 15 from 10am to 5pm. It's a free event, so you can just turn up whenever suits you best.
