Free family day of hands-on science, technology, arts and maths workshops and live demonstrations led by the university's researchers and students.
The Oxford Brookes Science Bazaar returns to the Oxford Brookes University Headington Campus on Saturday 20 February 2027, from 9:30am to 4:00pm. It's a free family day that brings together science, technology, arts and maths, and it's built for curious minds of all ages. While it's aimed squarely at children aged 5 to 12, there's plenty for parents and older siblings to get stuck into too.
Rather than formal lectures, the day runs on hands-on workshops and live demonstrations. Interactive exhibits cover biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, nature, health and space, and they're led by the university's own researchers, students and local organisations. Alongside those, there are bookable workshops and storytelling sessions to slot in. It's the kind of day where you can drift between the different areas and let the kids follow whatever catches their eye.
Accessibility is a priority here. There are dedicated quiet and sensory-considerate spaces available throughout the day, and an expanded Autism-Friendly Relaxed Early Opening session runs before the main event starts. That early session does require booking in advance, so if that's the one you're after, it's worth sorting it early.
