Junior pumpkin carving session at The Cape of Good Hope pub, with a pumpkin, carving tools, paints and a goody bag included.
The Cape of Good Hope is hosting a Junior Pumpkin Carving session on Friday 30 October, from 12:30 to 15:30. It's a proper mid-afternoon slot, so it works if you've got the kids out of school or just want to get the carving sorted well before Halloween night.
One of the best things about this one is that you don't need to bring a thing. Each ticket includes your pumpkin, the carving tools, and paints, plus a goody bag to take home. It's a complete kit in one go, so you're not hunting around for a decent pumpkin or worrying about who's bringing the knives. The paints are a nice addition too, for when you're done with the carving and want to add some extra detail.
If you haven't been, The Cape of Good Hope is a proper local pub on Iffley Road, popular with students, locals and visitors alike, and described as having a cool and quirky twist. Its Lunch & Supper Counter serves a varied range of food, including the Chicken Society, Ruby Jean's Burgers, The Marvellous Pub Grub Co. and Veg Heads, alongside craft beers, classic ales, wines, cocktails and artisan spirits, and a beer garden in the summer. The venue runs a lively events calendar of quiz, poker, karaoke and student nights, plus a function room for up to 100 guests, and also hosts a Spooky Island Halloween Party and a Boo-zy Pumpkin Carving. It sits on Iffley Road, close to the Botanic Garden, the O2 Academy and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
