Live dance-rock show by Adult DVD, mixing indie and acid house, at The Bullingdon on Cowley Road.
Adult DVD play The Bullingdon on Monday 19 October, with the night presented by Heavy Pop. It's a dance-rock gig, and the band's name gives a fair hint of the sort of party they're after.
They started as a duo around vocalist Harry Hanson and synth player Greg Lonsdale, and have since built out into a full band: Danny Blackburn on guitar and synth, Jake Williams on synth, Jonathan Newell on drums, and George Manson on bass. That's three synth players in one line-up, which explains where the dance side of things comes from.
They've picked up a fair bit of early attention. Rolling Stone UK tipped them as one of the 'Ones To Watch For 2026', and they've been playlisted on BBC 6 Music, with support from BBC Radio 1 and a slot at the BBC's 6 Music Festival last year. Critics describe their sound as a mash-up of niche and quotidian tales set to music that bashes together rock and rave, with humour, bold danceable instrumentals and chorus-centric songwriting that draws on indie and acid house floor fillers. If that sounds like a lot, the short version is that it's rock music you can dance to.
