Screening of David Ayer's survival thriller about a Special Forces officer and his combat dog stranded in the Alaskan wilderness.
Heart of the Beast is playing at Vue Cinema in Oxford from Friday 30 October, running through to 5 November. It's a Special Forces drama directed by David Ayer, with Brad Pitt in the lead, alongside J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. The story follows Special Forces officer James Belmont and his combat dog, Odin, who end up stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash and are forced into a brutal fight for survival. It's an adventure thriller, and the bond between the man and his dog is the thing that holds it all together.
The film runs 101 minutes and carries a 12A certificate, so it's fine for younger viewers as long as they're over twelve or accompanied. It first came out on 25 September 2026, so this is one of its first runs in Oxford. If you're into survival stories and the kind of bond that develops when it's just you and your dog against the elements, this is exactly that.
