An improvised spooky show created each night by House of Improv, inspired by classic monster tales and gothic horror, for the University of Oxford Student Season.
House of Improv bring their Haunted House of Improv to the Burton Taylor Studio at the Oxford Playhouse, running from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 October. It's part of the University of Oxford Student Season for Michaelmas Term, and the whole thing is improvised spooky theatre.
Each night the company conjures a brand-new show from scratch, drawing on classic monster tales, gothic horror, supernatural mysteries and suggestions from the audience. They build an original play entirely in the moment, so no two nights are the same — if you go on Tuesday, you're seeing a completely different story from the one they'll put together on Wednesday.
Because it's all made up on the spot, the show is recommended for ages 16 and over, and it may contain strong language or adult references. The performance runs for around an hour, so it's a relatively short commitment for a mid-week evening.
