Stand-up show by Tez Ilyas, the Sunday Times bestselling author and star of 'Man Like Mobeen', on his 2026 tour.
Tez Ilyas brings his new show, Tez Things I Hate About You, to The North Wall Arts Centre on Friday 6 November. It's part of a wider 2026 tour that runs from 2 September to 28 November, and the Oxford date is one of the stops on that run.
If you haven't come across him before, Ilyas is a stand-up who describes himself as the UK's leading 'de-influencer' and 'the grumpiest uncle in showbiz'. He's also the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Secret Diary of a British Muslim Aged 13 ¾. On screen, he's a star of Man Like Mobeen on BBC Three, Live at the Apollo on BBC Two, and Fighting Talk on BBC Radio 5 Live. The critics have had their say, too: The Telegraph called his political stand-up 'candyfloss with a razorblade inside', while The Times described it as 'radiantly entertaining', both noting a slick, subversive humour that draws comparisons to US comics.
He's fresh from travelling the world and returns with a brand-new show. He's promising fresh jokes, furious rants and ridiculous stories, all delivered with the same smart, silly and subversive humour he's known for. It's a full evening of comedy rather than a short set, and the material is new for this tour.
