Folk-punk band Ferocious Dog play the Oxford date of their 'Ferocious UK Farewell Tour 2026 Finale' at the O2 Academy Oxford.
Ferocious Dog play O2 Academy Oxford on Friday 30 October, as part of their Ferocious UK Farewell Tour 2026 Finale. It's one of the last chances to see them live, as 2026 is the band's final year.
They're a six-piece folk-punk outfit from Mansfield, fronted by Ken Bonsall, whose lyrics and stage presence drive their high-octane live shows. The sound pulls folk together with rock, reggae and Celtic influences, rounded out by Jamie Burney on fiddle and Sam Wood on strings. They've spent years building a reputation as a live band, and this tour is the final stretch.
There are a few milestones that help place them. In November 2015, they sold out Rock City in Nottingham in advance, the first time an unsigned band had done so in the venue's 35-year history. 2016 was a defining year: they played Billy Bragg's Left Field stage at Glastonbury and shared the stage with The Levellers on a sold-out European and UK tour. Their album The Hope debuted at Number One on the Official UK & Ireland Folk Album Charts, and their latest record, Kleptocracy, arrived on 17 May 2024.
