Screening of the biographical period drama about writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika on a road trip through post-war Germany.
Fatherland opens at Phoenix Picturehouse on Friday 23 October, with screenings running through to Thursday 29 October. It's a biographical period drama that follows writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika on a road trip through post-war Germany.
If you're not familiar with the name, Thomas Mann was one of the most influential German writers of the twentieth century, and this is a look at him and his daughter on the road in the years after the war. It's a biographical piece, so it's built around the real people and the real time, rather than a fictionalised version of them.
It's showing at the Phoenix Picturehouse on Walton Street, which is a century-old Oxford cinema with two screens and a friendly upstairs bar. The bar stocks a wide range of wines, spirits and bottled beers, so it's an easy spot to grab a drink before or after a session. The cinema also runs a Kids' Club presented by Picturehouse and UNICEF.
