Interactive science show by Nate Rae that explores animal intelligence, perception and adaptation, recommended for ages 7-12.
Nate Rae brings Amazing Animals to The North Wall Arts Centre on Tuesday 27 October, with two shows that day: one at 11am and another at 3pm, each running for 50 minutes. It's a Braintastic! Science production, and the whole thing is built around a single question: what animal behaviour reveals about intelligence, perception and adaptation.
Rae doesn't just talk at the audience; he puts them to the test. You'll be measuring yourself against chimps, parrots, dolphins and slime mould, seeing how your own way of thinking stacks up against theirs. The show champions the idea that every mind, human or animal, works differently, and it's that comparison — rather than a simple ranking — that does the heavy lifting. It's an interactive science show, so you're part of the demonstration rather than just watching it from your seat.
It's recommended for ages 7-12 and family audiences, and there's a bit more to it than the show itself. You're invited to arrive early and stay afterwards for free, drop-in hands-on activities that let you explore animal behaviours further, so it's worth leaving some time on either side if you're bringing kids. The show runs in the Theatre & Foyer, and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible.
