Stand-up show by Edinburgh Comedy Awards nominee Catherine Bohart about the generational worry of her family.
Catherine Bohart brings her new stand-up show, Borrowing Trouble, to The North Wall Arts Centre on Friday 30 October. It's a one-night stop in Oxford, and the whole thing runs for an hour and a half with an interval, so it's a proper evening out rather than a quick set.
The show takes its title and its starting point from something Bohart describes as her birthright: the all-encompassing, generational worry of her family. It's a subject she insists is a laugh, and the set builds around it. If you've ever spent a Sunday dinner watching your parents fret over things that haven't happened yet, you'll know exactly the kind of territory she's working with.
Bohart is an Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Show nominee, and she's a familiar face from the TV circuit. She's appeared on Live at the Apollo, QI, The Last Leg, A League of Their Own, Mock the Week, The Mash Report, The News Quiz and Last One Laughing Ireland, and she starred in the Amazon Prime special Immaculate. Beyond the screen, she co-hosts the podcasts Tonsil Hockey and Trusty Hogs. Critics have called her 'captivatingly funny' and 'an incredibly assured comic force', with some describing Borrowing Trouble as her best yet — a stand-up in command of her material and cynically hilarious.
