Screening of 'Verity', the psychological thriller adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson.
Savoy Cinema is screening Verity, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's psychological thriller, over the next few days. It's showing on Tuesday 27 October at 20:35, Wednesday 28 October at 20:15, and Sunday 1 November at 20:00, so there are a few different slots to choose from if you're fitting it around work.
Anne Hathaway stars as Verity Crawford, the enigmatic author at the centre of the story, and Dakota Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh, a writer struggling with financial hardship. When Lowen takes a ghostwriting job at the isolated Crawford family estate, she starts uncovering unsettling secrets that challenge everything she thought she knew about the woman she's filling in for. It's a psychological thriller that leans into themes of ambition, deception and the dangerous dynamics between two women whose lives become increasingly entangled.
If you've read the book, you'll recognise the setup: a writer hired to finish another's work, a remote house, and a series of discoveries that shift the ground beneath her. On screen, it's Hathaway and Johnson taking those roles, with the story following Lowen as she digs into the Crawford household and finds things she probably should have left alone.
