Screening of the psychological thriller Verity, adapted from the novel by Colleen Hoover, at the independent cinema.
Verity opens at Broadway Cinema on Friday 16 October, with screenings running through the next week. It's a psychological thriller adapted from Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, directed by Michael Showalter and starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who's hired to ghostwrite the rest of a series for the renowned author Verity Crawford. Lowen moves into the remote Crawford estate to get the work done, but while she's there, she finds what look like Verity's chilling autobiographical notes. They're full of disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity's husband, Jeremy, and as Lowen reads on, she finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction and opportunity from obsession. It's a seductive kind of thriller, and the film runs 117 minutes.
Broadway Cinema is in the heart of Nottingham's creative quarter, and it's nationally recognised as the cultural leader for independent cinema, arts and technology in the Midlands. It's a great spot if you're already in the area for other things, and the film is rated 15.
