Outdoor screening of Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' on a giant screen at Wollaton Hall, with a spooky Halloween soundtrack and fancy dress encouraged.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is showing outdoors at Wollaton Hall on Sunday 25 October, part of Adventure Cinema's Halloween outdoor cinema weekend which runs from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October. It's Tim Burton's stop-motion classic, rated PG, playing on a giant outdoor screen in the grounds of the hall. The film doesn't start on its own, though: it's preceded by a spooky soundtrack of specially curated songs, which Adventure Cinema describes as being for witches, ghouls, ghosts, vampires, werewolves and humans. Fancy dress is highly encouraged, so it's a night to lean into the Halloween side of things.
There's a bit you need to know about the seating before you book. Unless you go for a premium ticket, there isn't any provided: you bring your own blanket or camping chair. If you'd rather not lug yours along, the Premium ticket gets you a luxury deck chair. The Director's View is the top end, with front-row seating, a treat bag and a blanket to take home. Hot food, snacks and a bar are on-site, and picnics and drinks are welcome, provided there's no glass.
