Two-hour silent writing session at Nottingham Central Library run by Nottingham Writer's Studio, open to members and non-members for a fee.
Space to Write is back at Nottingham Central Library on Saturday 31 October, from 11:00. It's a writing space run by Nottingham Writer's Studio, and the whole point is simple: they give you a room at the library for two hours of focused work. If you've been staring at a half-finished chapter or a pile of notes for weeks and can't seem to find the time to actually sit down and do the work, this is exactly that time.
How you spend those two hours is up to you. You can spend them writing in silence, if that's what you need to get anything done. Or you can use the time to talk through ideas with other writers in the room, or even pair up for some collaborative co-writing if you're stuck on a particular scene. You bring your own tools — whatever you usually write with — and the room is yours for the session. It's a low-pressure way to get some words down without the usual distractions of home or a busy cafe.
It's not just for members of the studio, either. The session is open to non-members for a nominal fee, so you don't need to be part of any particular group to come along. You do need to sign up in advance via Eventbrite, and when you arrive, there's a sign-in sheet left in the room to tick your name off. It's a straightforward setup: you book your spot, turn up, and spend a couple of hours on your writing.
