Free exhibition celebrating the life and work of Agatha Christie, with items from The Christie Archive Trust, at Nottingham Central Library.
Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery opens at Nottingham Central Library on 30 October, and it's free to visit. It's a taster of the full show opening at the British Library in London on the same day, brought to Nottingham through the Living Knowledge Network, delivered by Nottingham City Libraries in partnership with Inspire Libraries and supported by Arts Council England grant funding.
The exhibition celebrates the life, work and legacy of Agatha Christie, the world's bestselling novelist and the 'Queen of Crime'. It draws on her best-loved characters, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, and looks at her impact on crime writers today. The display items come from The Christie Archive Trust, and there are a few things in there that'll make any fan lean in: her 1937 Remington typewriter, her 1917 pharmaceutical exam study notes, and a photograph of the author from 1955.
It's part of a wider Agatha Christie season run by Inspire and Nottingham City Libraries, which includes a Crime Reading Challenge for children and free themed activities for ages 4-10. So if you've got little ones who've already started their own detective notebooks, there's something for them to get stuck into alongside the main display.

One thing to keep in mind is that the exhibition doesn't stay in the city centre. It runs at Nottingham Central Library on Carrington Street (NG1 7FH) from 30 October to 31 December, and then it tours to other libraries across the city: St Ann's Valley Library from 7 January to 21 February 2027, Hyson Green Library from 8 March to 22 April, and Strelley Road Library from 5 May to 29 June. If you can't make it to the Central Library before the end of the year, you've got three more chances to catch it closer to home over the following months. Entry is free throughout.
