Interactive screening of the Murder, She Wrote episode 'Paint Me a Murder', hosted by Tim Benzie, in which the audience solves the crime alongside Jessica Fletcher.
Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote comes to the Theatre Royal on Saturday 16 January 2027, with the Nottingham screening featuring the episode Paint Me a Murder. It's an interactive screening of a classic Murder, She Wrote episode, staged with special permission from NBC Universal Television. Each venue on the tour programmes a different episode, and the audience is tasked with solving the crime alongside Jessica Fletcher.
There's a fair bit more to it than just watching the show. A Fameometer and a Suspiciometer track the best detective in the room, and there's a Cabot Cove quiz with prizes. You'll also get a singalong to the theme tune with new lyrics and clips of the show's campier guest stars. The host is Tim Benzie, an Australian super-fan and award-winning playwright who changes through a succession of Jessica Fletcher-inspired costumes throughout the night.
It's a cult hit from London that's played to sell-out audiences across the UK, Ireland, the USA and Australia, as well as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 2023 to 2025, the Adelaide Fringe in 2025 and the Murder, She Wrote Festival 2025 in California. Time Out London named it one of the great nights out in 2019 and 2021. The age guidance is 18+.
