Screening of Aardman's animated family adventure 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' at the Savoy Cinema.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is screening at Savoy Cinema from Thursday 22 October to Wednesday 28 October. It's an 80-minute animated family adventure, rated BBFC U, so it works as a trip for the younger ones or just a quiet one for yourself if you've got a soft spot for the flock.
The story starts at Mossy Bottom Farm, where the animals are looking forward to Halloween. Things go sideways when the clumsy Farmer accidentally trashes the flock's prized pumpkin patch, and Shaun decides to take matters into his own hands. He turns makeshift scientist to fix the problem, but his well-intentioned efforts quickly spiral into chaos: the Farmer vanishes and a wild beast is reported roaming the woods of Mossingham. From there, the film leans on comedy and mayhem as the animals scramble to restore order before the holiday festivities begin.
It's a stop-motion piece, so there's a lot of that tactile, handmade charm to it, and the humour comes as much from the physical comedy as from the characters. The whole thing runs just over an hour, which is a good length for a family outing without it dragging on too long.
